A question from Yahoo! Answers:
Will China be the strongest country in the world?
I don’t think so.
On the one hand, China is too busy oppressing its own minorities.
On the other hand, Chinese military might is not quite what the Chinese government wants everyone to believe it is. Twice in the 1980s (1981 and 1983), China tried to attack Vietnam, a much smaller country, and was beaten back both times.
Finally, politically unified China is an exception, not a rule. Chinese history knows many unifiers, but ultimately all unifications failed. There is no reason to believe this one is going to be different.
